QLD Health - Far-North QLD Generator Upgrades
Tender submitted Q4, 2017 and awarded Q4, 2017 with completion in Q2, 2018 for one new emergency standby generator and associated fuel cell, control gear, Automatic Transfer Switch and associated cabling. Full testing to AS3018 is included as is all transport, consumables, first-fill of fuel & coolant and commissioning and on-site training to hospital/clinic personnel.

SCOPE
This tender is for the upgrade and replacement of the emergency stand-by generator for the Torres & Cape HHS at the Yam Island primary health clinic.
Scope expanded following site inspection to include rectification of current non-compliant electrical installation/components and a different generator location to avoid excavation and associated cultural concerns.
Solution
The works included the purchase, modification and transport of a CAT generator (55KVA) with a harsh area package, fuel polishing and ERPS system integration, installation and commissioning of a 125A ABB ATS, re-wiring of the switchboards to make safe non-compliant wiring, 19x new ABB Type AC RCBOs and all associated cabling and supplementary equipment.

Environmental
Removal and disposal of the existing generator and control/distribution cabling was included.
Recycling of construction waste streams was accomplished (approximately 98% by weight/volume) and all carbon emissions have been offset through an accredited fund.
